Don't know if this one was dealt with before or if one such book exist but I was wondering if the knowledgeable folks on this forum can collaborate and put together an ebook that you can pay for and download....

Granted all the information it would contain could be obtained by a search on this forum or Google and other sources but like most people I just don't have the time, motivation or expertise to sift through all the information that's out there...I always say let the people who know show you..

I would gladly pay a price for that information where I can print it off and read it at my leisure....

Topics could be....
Choosing a domain name
Which is better buying a domain name or registering a new one
The search process
The registering process
The buying process
The selling process
The transfer process
Best Registrars for easy transfers etc..
Pitfalls....etc...

Make some suggestions....

My experience around this forum is that it's an intimidating place for a newbie, so sometimes although I want to make an input on some issues I desist....and I even delayed joining for a long time until I thought I could ask a reasonably intelligent domaining or other question...

I think that some of the large amount of guest can be turned into paying members which would be good for the older Domainers (more people to sell to)

eg: I have $25,000 US...I want to invest in domains but not for the purpose of reselling....I want to develop these domains for Adsense and Affiliate Marketing....so I am looking for generic traffic domains....I am looking at niches but the process of finding such domains are time consuming and confusing and when you see a domain most of the time the traffic is fake or manipulated...so I have put that project on the backburner until i learn more about the whole thing....that e-book would be helpful....

Many guests maybe in my same predicament... Have Cash But Confused

Cheers....

you reap what you sow!

sorry to "come at you" like that, but if you're not willing to put in the time, then how can you expect any rewards?

this forum is your ebook! :)

Don't get me wrong but I believe in putting the time and effort in any endeavor....however I don't believe in wasting time....it's the only commodity you can't get back...

If I need expertise, I will pay for it...why try to learn it, then to implement it, with a lot of mistakes, when I can have it done and pay a nominal sum. I can them use my time to do what I am good at ....makes sense to me.....

eg: If I am paid $200 per hour doing a task
I spend 10 hours (being conservative) finding information re-domaining or anything else...
Another 5 putting the information together and understanding it

That's $200 x 15 =$3000 in lost income

I buy an ebook and spend $20 - 50
Spend 2 hours reading and implementing the information contained...

That's $200 x 2 =$400 + 50 = $450
I would gladly trade $450 for $3000 any day.....why try to re-invent the wheel.....

There are many books and articles available covering the difference aspects of domaining but I believe the real important stuff can be learned right here in this forum. l agree with biggedon that you reap what you sow. Before you get started you best be sure you're willing to put forth the time and effort its gonna require.

Of course you could have some success by just watching, waiting, and registering a good name from time to time as you happen to think of one. But that takes a lot of your time too...its not easy to find good names. That's the way I got started but it wasn't long before I was much more involved ....it seems to work that way for most people. Domaining has an addiction to it....all it takes is the sale of a few names for a good profit and you're hooked for life.

I wish you good luck....

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm almost certain that any book with a title ending with "For Dummies" is Trademarked. And H2FC is correct, there are many books out there that cover domaining, mostly on how to make money.

Is there one book covering everything.....from beginning to end....I think the forum experience is a good one, however I must be misunderstanding the purpose of a forum....the ebook thing is just a suggestion....

About learning important things on this forum, I don't disagree however some of us would rather go "straight to the honey ,rather than fight the bee" old saying....

Sorry but the title was only to convey the direction of the book...it could be anything..Domaining for Newbies, Newbies Guide To Domaining, or any title...

None of the books I have seen explains the whole process from acquisition to relinquishment.

I've been thinking this one years ago but time is always an issue for me. I will try it again.

Welcome to the forum. Sorry you feel intimidated.

I think a big reason as to why such a book does not exist is you will get just as many opinions as there are domain names.

Hang out, check out other forums, visit some other sites like DNJournal and Sedo, look at what is going on, pick up some trends, and learn to decipher the BS from the diamonds in the rough. :welcome:

I think you should and when you do I will buy a copy.....it's always good to have that information around....

That is correct-o

You...like Raidergirl are missing the point but thanks for the info which I am aware of....the title was only illustrative and not meant to be what the book should be called....

Cheers...

Best way to learn is simply get your feet wet. There is no ebook which can documenting from step 1 to step n.

Here is an article I think you might be interested. I found it on google because I wasn't sure how to spell the word 'monetize'...

http://www.monetizetraffic.com/category/ppc/

Thx.
