I was doing some end of year stuff for taxes.

I noticed for 2009, I had 15 sales on Sedo, 8 of those in the last quarter of the year!

I have not gotten to private sales receipts yet.

For 2010, I have already had 6 sales on sedo, three this week alone!

What's selling?

Well, of the 6 Sedo sales for 2010 -

2 mobi
1 net
1 info
2 com

These are anywhere from 3 letter domains to keyword rich 4 word domains.

The past two quarters have really looked good on the sales front with Sedo and with private sales, one making the list of DNJournal.

From my perspective, I can not complain about the sales and the offers coming in (on and off sedo).

Anyone else see a better past quarter or two?

I'm just curious Doc.....do you have your sedo names on their parking site or can you still have pretty good sales on sedo with them parked someplace else and just listed for sale on sedo?

Looking like a stronger year for domain sales for me also. Quite a few inquiries, many converting, both through direct & parked contact link. None from sedo this year.

I have them parked on sedo landers.

One of my many projects is to eventually have a visual listing to the domains (using graphics like in my sig).

I have a domain selected for this, basic site work done, but have not listed domains yet. This will simply mean more exposure for the names by additional indexing.

There have been a couple of sales in the past when I did not have them on sedo but moved them back to sedo when the offers came in.

So, I can not really gauge the sales of having them listed on Sedo but parked somewhere else.

It is not a bad idea to have them listed (and indexed) as many places as possible...although this may be a violation of the TOS.

Interesting.

I've had a couple of VERY strong sales from this forum via PM's. Would like to reveal those but unless given permission from the buyer, I keep it private.

I made quite a few sales at the end of 2009, but since the start of the year, I completely stopped receiving offers / making sales. Although I have been buying a lot, many from people here on DNF, but I am also devving lately which seems to be the best bet at this time. I have set up quite a few sites and they all seem to be making money one way or another, adsense, CJ, direct affiliation, etc.

I am thinking sales will pick up within the next couple months, hopefully at least before summer.

I sold a pair of 4 month old handregs for 4.5k last month in a private sale. That's all for this year. Although the number of inquiries is rising, they have not resulted in sales yet.

I'm dealing with a sedo offer/negotiation at this moment. Lowballing me, as usual.

Slightly fewer sales overall, but better ones.

Sold nothing last year, sold one this year for a very small profit. Hoping it gets better because I'm slowly allowing my domains to expire and I'll be out of the game for good.

one sale so far this year for mid xxx, one offer through Sedo for low xxxx that didn't go anywhere, and one price inquiry on Afternic (for a .cc)

2009 was my best sales year, the last few years each have gotten a little better.

2010 has been slow so far, but it should get better. the overall market looks active from looking at the dnjournal sales reports each week.

Sales were good, but last quarter of 2009 and start of 2010 have been very good in terms of number of completed sales and the money is decent as well.

I would be happiest if all the deadbeat bidders would just disappear and go away.

I have also been very lucky in picking up a few worthy drops that are knocking in good PPC and even a few handregs are doing well.

2007 was good, 2008 was great, 2009 was rather slow except for a couple of sales that I'm very happy with. 2010 has started off pretty slow, but it looks like it's picking up.

Sell names for cheap enough and almost anyone can increase the # of sales.

And I'd be interested to know how many of these sales are from end users.

Same with me, 2007 was so good I was able to pay off my mortgage.

Several of my sales have been to end users and I have seen sites.

I just sold a 10 year old geo dot com moments ago on sedo. I would call it a lesser geo in terms of population and popularity. But it was a good sale nevertheless.

He made an offer, I made a counter offer, and he accepted it. This may be another end user.

Slow - 8 sales so far this year.

This is a time for buying. The number of quality hand regs available is amazing compared to the past 12-48 months.

Hand regs...and drops?

I think the fact that the vast majority of registrars no longer allows tasting has had a major impact.

Good point re tasting.

Drops, and hand reg's - lot of names available that I don't expect to be, dropped recently. Today I bought;

CateringOven.com & co.uk
CateringOvens.com & co.uk

6,600 and 14,800 monthly google searches respectively.
