How do I transfer the site after I buy it?

What is the traditional way to transfer a website after you buy it? I don't mean the domain. I'm talking about an established website. Any suggestions?

Download the site via FTP, depending on the program that you are using i.e. dreamweaver / frontpage. Create a local directory on your computer and place the files in there .. Then once you have created the domain on your new FTP server upload the site.

If there's a database involved, don't forget to get the database user/pass info as well.

Best also to find out if it's running on windows or linux and make sure the same required apps and mods are installed on your new server.
