How do you manage your domains?

So having over 3k domains spread across over 10 registrars has become quite painful.. I probably let quite a few decent names drop over the years and besides that knowing which domains you have exactly might help in case someone is looking for something specific..

So how do you manage your portfolio?
I know there's dnzoom and probably other similar programs, but frankly giving all my logins and passwords to someone is a scary perspective regardless of how trustable this person/company is.

Try minimizing the number of registrars. Get into the habit of adding new regs/purchases to a master list (either MS Excel or other) right away (i.e. right after acquiring the name). Keep your registrant and admin contact info up-to-date.

with 4000+ names now we have had a similar problem so we have built an internal php / mysql management system ... let's us batch import or add domains one by one, captures all the basic registrar into and does a live whois to pull back / confirm details, add metadata to a domain so we can give it some more context and meaning, pulls in SEO metrics for the domain. We also have importers for our revenue stats which then gives us an understanding of ROI and cashflow requirements for expiring domains.

All of this has been designed to provide us with the right platform to build or retail front end other new developments soon to be announced

DomainDairy has two tutorials linked on its front page which clearly show the features of the site.

Regarding entering passwords, no we dont collect anything. You simply enter your domains, and we grab the data such as registrar, expiry date etc.

We considered taking a path such as dnzoom, however there software is extremely flawed. Who wants to use software that integrates with SOME big registrars, especially when it is the small ones causing the problems...

We aim to do what we do well. We dont try and pull off more than we can chew.
