How is Twitter effecting your community?

Today, on the bus trip to work, I noticed the bus company is also utilising Twitter for the benefit of their customers. Their new Twitter service offers timetable updates, discounts, up-to-date prices etc.

I was just wandering if anyone else has noticed local companies using Twitter?
