Is the full whois information for .org available yet? Where can I check the whois info?

I try to check from http://nic.com, but it doesn't show the registrant contact.

I believe you can just check .ORG availability (registered or not) and DNS server, but not contact information.

You can transfer .org's okay, but at the moment you cannot assign .com/.net domains to .org nameservers. Situation should change in March apparantly.

Seems to me like a problem transfering .ORG database from NetSol to Affilias. This process should ideally be transparent to to internet user; or not taking more than a week.

Either Afilias has a bad planning or NetSol screws it up.

Are expired orgs becoming available now? They are supposed to not be but it looks like they might be.

.org's are falling like rain at the moment compared with .com's and .net's. However a .org I am waiting for should have dropped today and doesn't seem as though its going to.

If you use www.betterwhois.com it can do .org properly.

If you use Port 43 WHOIS, you'd see which registrar has the name, in the PIR WHOIS. Then, you can recurse, and check that registrar's WHOIS for the name.
