on a piece of medical equipment.. I own an old "spirometer" like this one

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2578602965&category=31462

A chip's memory is full with data.. what you are suppose to do is hook it to the phone line..it has a modem and send the data to a hospital..that also flushes the memeory.

It is no longer used to send data ..but you can still use it to take the pulmonary fnction test and print it out IF I can figure a way to clear thew memery.

I opened it up with the idea of simply pulling either the main CPU or a battery and draoin it that way...BUT ..I dont see a battery and the main CPU is soldered in...

short of shorting it out.. nanyone have any idea.. .. I could probably scan an image of the mother board if that would help.. take me awhile to get it out but it is possible..

Any ideas ?

I got it..managed to pull a chip .works great ..
