I've been using domainpeople(dot)com - in Vancouver BC, since 1999 and got domain partner status on the basis of averaging 20 nam3es/month - either registered or renewed.

I pay US$10-11 for dot coms and dot nets - can virtually always get someone on the phone and have no complaints left unresolved over the nearly 10 yrs of doing biz with them.
