I bought a japanese woodblock print today that originally sold in 1960 for 600 yen. So I started thinking, How much was 600 yen in US dollars back in 1960 ? (I still don't know).
If would be cool if someone came up with a Money site where you could type in the :
Year (ie: 1921)
Original currency (ie: German Marks) to receive the
Conversion currency (ie: US dollar)
It would be invaluable to researchers, antique / art dealers, etc.
