I think Twitter like Facebook basically is a waste of time.
But if you play it right this can be a great marketing opportunity for promote domains, ideas, sites, etc...

I know people use Twitter/FB all day and they waste all time on social networks saying stupid things chatting with people.
A friend of mine stay 17/18 hours a day on FB doing nothing just wasting the time.

I also know people use Twitter/FB all day and they promote products/services/domains in the right way via social networks making some good money.

Like everything in life depends on the way you use it.
