Once upon a time, I wrote a trollish little blog entry about how it might be possible to collect metadata on a certain class of photographic images, and stuff them into a database in a way that would be searchable. This is more than just GIS, folks. This is more than just tagging. The context of the metadata is preserved, and that makes all the difference in the world.
