I was trying to move some stray domains and can't get in any accounts with godaddy or wwd. I've been trying for over an hour now.

Does any one know whats going on? - Or is it my connection, although I can get in acounts with other companies fine.

Hmm - just tried again and having same problem.

Must be some thing my end!

I have been having the same problem for days and I own a reseller lol. Can't get into GoDaddy either. Any idea what is causing this for some people and not others?

Thats me feel a bit better - as its been bugging me for about 24 hours.

Sorry that don't help you - DomainOgre.

Any pointers from anyone would be nice.

Ugh, still unable to get in. Other people seem to be getting in it fine tho.

I may have to email either WWD or GD and see whats up.

I called wwd today and they knew nothing of the problem - they seem to think its a trace route problem from my end. They pinged me and it timed out several times.

I'll set up a few test conections through other isp's later - if they are right the conections we are using are duff (need a fix in routing). Although I've not had any problem with other sites - Yet.

Thanks for the info :).

How do we fix that? Its not happening to me on other sites either.

So far not sure - spent 2 hours on phone in a Q to isp.

Using a dailup with any other isp does work - so it is a routing problem. Also using another office with different fixed ip - no problem.

From what I can gather (could well be wrong) gd and wwd check the route before there pages load (possibly a fraud check of some kind), so if there is a problem in the routing then the pages will not load (header will on non secure pages). Strange that serveral other sites don't this. So in this case the trace route mapping gives up and the page hangs. If this is the case it must put some load on there servers.

If you get some one to ping you or ping from a site site that has that option ping back (to your ip) - then I think you will find a time out error.

One thing I'm fairly sure of is the problem resides at mine end, not at gd/wwd.

I have also sent a support request to the isp - I'll post again when I find out what the solution is.

Learn't something else thing new - current isp support is not quick.

------------------------------

After trying phone again....................

Not sure why - could be the call to isp (who said it was nothing to do with them).

But gd and wwd are up from this end. Could be they changed the script?

Could have been the isp - but they were very unhelpful on the phone. In fact made me feel I was waisting there time.

Truth is I'm puzzled.

Hope its up now for DomainOgre.

Its back now, thanks :-).

I wonder if they altered something ever so slightly when you called them?

Quarterly (if not monthly already) they update their blocked countries list and also the list for some ISPs that served unusually high number of fraudulent purchases. So, they update it to not allow new customers from there but in the same time they try to keep site open for the old and proven customers from that countries and ISPs. This is a little bit tricky process and I suspect sometimes it results in problems described above.
