I am shocked by the prices that some of these image hosts that have been up for 1 month with 20 members are going for $500 and such.
I have not done any development work with the site for months.
This site was started in November 2004 and quickly became huge. The problem was that in March my server was getting killed and I was being ripped off because of bandwidth pirates from Asia mostly. At it's peak it was pulling 80 GIGS a DAY!!The script was not meant to handle the load. I search but could not find and alternative. so I have to start from scratch. At that time my Alexa was 30,000 and falling fast. Revenue was never really good but was starting to rise. I hated starting over but I did using phpimagehosting script which has a great bandwidth controller.
So I started in March at zero, but did nothing to promote the site. I do have an assistant cleaning images so it is porn free, which can be a good thing or bad thing depending on how you look at it.
So as of today the basic stats are:
1. there are 1972 registered users
2. 6 paid users
3. 19424 images
4. Revenue about $20 a month, but of course can be grown, I put zero effort in the site. I even have to search for login details because I login so infrequently.
5. It is on its own server at serverbeach ($175 a month). You can host it anywhere or take over this account. It only pulls now 1 Gig a day.
7. There were 6780 uniques users in July (down from 800+ a day in March)
SPECIAL FEATURE- I have approximately 100 pages of keyword content professionally written for the top "hosting" related words. I paid several hundred dollars for this alone. Adsense expect will have a field day.
As I said, I am doing NOTHING with it and it does have potential.
Given that I see threads and sites like this:

It will be interesting to se the offers. I know that it is unlikely that I will get the money I put into this ( switching servers, professional keyword content, starting from scratch, opportunity cost, etc.).
I know that current income does not justify a very high price, the potential is certainly there. I will put the BIN at $2,500 just so my time is not wasted.
