there is a bug In one of the plugins or Addons that is making the forum feel like it's on a 99cent a month host.
Also keep an eye on memory usage.

Will show you what to nuke

Passing it on to the tech guys now. I am not having to same problem but i will get them to look into it.

The homepage takes 10.3 seconds to load from Canada

Yes, the homepage takes too long to load (takes at least 5 seconds for the link to "new posts" to appear as a submenu, as some other links appear first, before some script is triggered that changes the menu to its final state).
 
I timed it again -- it's more like 20 seconds for the homepage, and also having to wait a very long time for the reply box to become visible, to type in a response within a thread.
