Launch of the Yahoo! Publisher Network Beta

Just received an email from Yahoo! that they are officially launching the Yahoo! Publisher Network Beta today.

However, at this point it is on an invite only basis.

Their beta testing sites are likely high traffic niche sites that they have been communicating with for some time now.

Well, to quote the first sentence of their email:

Today, Yahoo! Publisher Network launched a new self-serve platform that will provide small- and medium-sized web publishers with easy access to Yahoo! advertising and content.

It sounds to me like they are looking for the little fish to help test this, rather than just picking the biggest publishers.

From what I hear so far, they have a few 'cool' features that Adsense does not have. Such as, they allow you to transfer the balance of your publisher account to your advertising account.

Got e-mail that I was accepted in BETA, they gave me a link that is good for one account, kinda reminds me of the gmail invites.

First problem was they made me make a new Yahoo ID, didn't let me use the old one, and I am having trouble logging in, it says my username and password is correct, but I have not validated my e-mail. I never received an e-mail asking me to click on a link to validate. Waiting on Yahoo support to clear up issue.

I also got the Yahoo email yesterday and I'm sensing that are about to open to public.

This is only BETA at this point, the public release is "aimed" at end in late December. This is according to the rep I spoke with on phone. As for the problem I stated earlier the rep told me due to a server error the confirmation e-mail will be delayed 24-48 hours.

As soon as I log in I'll post a full review here.
