"All the newspapers". Interesting source.
Ebert gave it 3 1/2 stars (out of 4). RottenTomatoes.com (reviewer aggregate) has it at 76% approval (out of 87 reviews so far from the top print and online film critics). Not sure where your "all the newspapers" comes from, but you might want to double check that. Better yet, see the movie! Make sure you don't catch hype-nitis before you do. That'll ruin any film for you. I saw it this first night to avoid it setting in later.
hype-nitis:The feeling that you know everything about something from the proliferation of propoganda, before you ever really experience it for yourself. Often followed by severe bouts of apathy and subsequent loathing. In many cases, the cause of unrealistically high expectations.
Perhaps I'm a bit "slow", I just saw The Matrix Revisited, the documentary about the making of the trilogy. I didn't know that they're actually doing MOST of the stunt themselves, making Arnie and Stallone look like clowns. LOL!
I liked the Matrix but I think too many effects and not much substance. I think William Gibsons 'Count Zero' trilogy has so much depth that it would be a sacrilidge to compare it to the Matrix series.
