Meet Monty.

We adopted Monty this past Thursday. He came from an abusive situation. Beyond being under weight, overall he is very healthy.

Monty is a Great Pyrenees / Golden Retriever mix, commonly referred to a Golden Pyrenees.

He is about 6-7 months old. Absolutely sweet and adorable, Monty begins Therapy Dog training on June 7th. I'll be working as the handler for Monty so we can get certified as a team.

Once certified, Monty becomes our 4th therapy dog along with Cotton, Lexi, and Simon.

Looks like he's happy to be part of your family! :)

Very nice of you to do that. He's already looking happy.

Yes, as well as dog town.

Monty makes number 9, 8 having been adopted (one adopting us).

We have a large house and large 6.5 acres, about 2.5 fenced in.

My kids fight with me always - They wanted a dog so bad..

I am not ready.. But I like the pets a lot.

When you are ready, please check your local shelter or rescue groups.

Yes, please. So many dogs (and cats) are put to sleep that would be eternally grateful to you for saving their life.

There's a lot that goes on in the show that you don't see. We noticed with most dogs in the beginning they're a terror (expected) and what looks like 5 minutes later the dog is perfectly behaved but no one seems to notice the fear in the dogs' eyes towards him.

My wife (who is a dog trainer) prefers "It's Me or the Dog".

Cute pup, Doc.

now thats a shaggy dog story i loved hearing about!
cheers Doctor

:welcome: Monty

Congrats Doc :yo:

looks like its a win/win... enjoy!!!

Great doggie.
Now, when I lived in China people said nice things about my dog. But I sensed smthg else as well, say, I wonder how would this doggie taste as a BBQ?
