Unfortunately you are right on the mark. Microsoft's presence on the internet has been predominated by hype, followed by gross incompetence, and worse is their utter refusal to create any form of web based platform that could benefit a small business entity. The one saving grace is Google's "enslave but include" business model, which will always be one step ahead of Microsoft's "run it through a wood chipper, then search for pearls only larger than your thumb" approach.

All rivers run to the ocean, I just didn't think the window would close so soon. Hold on to those domains with traffic! Free search is about to hit the last branch on it's way down.

Google still categorizes my searches, feeds off my privacy, and shows me only "relevant" results that IT thinks are good for me. Bullcrap. I want to see everything, not what you've decided to show me. The idea was for it to be free, right?

What do you call the organic search engine results? If you want to see "everything" why not just use a directory? Sorry, but I don't get your argument.

I agree Google does have some problems, and they do remove sites too easily, but that's not the issue here. MS & Yahoo are both big enough to try and compete without merging.

by that I meant that Google modifies my search results based on my past searching history, and shows me the results it "thinks" I would be interested in.

For instance, if I've searched for "India Mobiles", "Indian Cricket", "Indian Politics", Google will try and show me pages with some Indian connection the next time I search for even "Politics".

This of course happens if you're looged into your Google account.

There has been a lot of controversy about this and this basically is a form of privacy invasion. I DON'T wan't my searches to be categorized. If I'm searching for granny fisting porn, I don't want anybody else to know about.

Its as if Google is "looking out" for me, something I don't like or appreciate.

What are you all worried about? If Microsoft wants to buy Yahoo who cares. I think Google is bigger problem than Mircosoft will ever be as far as the internet is concerned.

aha, I get you know, your referring to the personalized results. At first I thought you were referring to just normal serps.
