After reading yet another bashing of our process and procedures.....which are now ironically the standards in our industry....
Why do suppose there is "yet another bashing" to begin with? Could it be because there really are problems with the process and procedures that have been brought up over and over and over again for years with no action?
Nope, no one forced me to submit names. "Fool me once" and I should have learned but I was fooled four times. I guess I just kept the hope that things would really get better. I guess that makes me a fool.
If you want to slap $100 fee on to the sales for domains that aren't at Moniker, that is your perogative. If all the other stuff you said is true, it wouldn't matter who the registrar was. That's just business. You set your prices. I'm cool with that. The customer simply pays more because we have to pass it on by raising our price.
The list repeats itself over and over:
Why buyers aren't made to settle their auction purchases by the end of the day like any real auction house, instead being given a month or more to pay.
Why it takes 4-6 weeks to get paid on a domain that SEDO and others settle and transfer in days. (NetSol on their worst day was never this slow even back in the early-90's when they took 30 days for everything).
Why nothing is ever published as to the criteria the "Selection Committee" uses.
Why we can't see current bids in Silent.
Why we can't submit only for Live.
Why the previous bids are not cleared before this auction starts so we don't have a false idea of actual bidders?
Why we can't lower reserves on the fly.
Why ... well, you get the idea. If you want me to complain, I can find a bunch but that would be counterproductive.
If these are the new industry standards, this is a serious regression and I would encourage you to take another look at the Oversee/Snapnames/Moniker shop. The fact is, you either don't want to listen and/or you don't care enough to make the changes your Sellers, who are also your customers, expect.
