Muslim engagement party - take a gift?

I'm attending a Muslim engagement party tomorrow night, and I have no clue

Looking forward to the experience, but all I know is that it's a formal event, so a suit is in order. But I'm wondering about a gift. From what I've read, where the people are from matters, and my friends are from Bangladesh. So should I get a gift, and if so, suggestions?
