I have been transferring out a number of domains away from NameScout over
the past month.

The orgs go very easily (but slowly) out of NameScout as long as you have the
authorization code.

The .com and .net sometimes bounces back eventhough they are unlocked.

I happen to notice 3 .net's in my NameScout acct that I wanted out before
the renewal in Sept.

I initiated the transfer once over the weekend and it came back saying that they couldn't do it. I did it again this morning. And, again the same thing.

I called Namescout and was on hold only two minutes (very impressive).

I explained I wanted to transfer them out and could they please assist.

The gentleman nicely explained that they didn't have them???

I then looked in my Enom acct and they were already there.

Apparently, I transferred them out a couple weeks ago. But, NameScout continues
to show them in the acct.

For once ( :-D ), Namescout was innocent.

( I thought it would be nice to post a thread where I screwed up. Instead of
blaming it on someone else.)

Maybe not - why are they still showing?
A number of registrars seem to foul up like this with their records - annoyingly continuing to send renewal reminders when they no longer have the name!

Mr Webname,

Yes. A number of registrars do that. And, it is annoying.
But, on a scale of 1 to 10, I only consider it a 3.

Dotster and Namecheap have a nasty habit of doing that.

Yep, those two were sending tons of reminders for awhile there.

All of the names were out with years tacked on, but still those annoying reminder emails. I almost tried to renew one there when I was in a rush (which I suppose is why they do it, if on purpose). I wonder if they would've submitted a transfer order had I tried to renew??

Hmm... a bug or just shadiness? ;)

I have 3 names that are still showing in my Namescout account that have long been transfered to eNom. It seems they remove most transfered names, but some get stuck - probably a system glitch.
