I have an .org extension domain name and the .com was regged in 1998 and mine was regged in the year 2000. The .com was dead i.e parked and recently it said coming soon. So i wondered if they can take the .org away from me somehow because they regged the .com before?

Short answer: it depends.

It depends on what you have been doing or not been doing with the .org. A "coming soon" page in and of itself is nothing to worry about unless the person who purchased the .com is already a mark holder. Just be smart, if the .org is of some value to you, protect yourself.

Any ideas on how I can protect myself? and by Mark you mean trademark holder right? I don't think the name has been trademarked
