Hi,

I'm selling a web site of mine, NeoNewsNow.com mainly because I don't have time to run it with the school starting and such. The site is big and gets about 6,000 unique hits per day.

Currently the site has a forum with over 5,100 members and 175,000 posts.

Costs:
The site doesn't cost much to run. I pay about $35/month in hosting, and $8.00/year for the domain. Also included would be neonewsnow.net, and slorgs.com (two domains, both redirect to neonewsnow.com).

The site has a lot that can be done with it. The site's staff works for free, and I wouldn't mind sticking around for a bit to help run the site.

I have never put ads on the site or tried to make money from it, but it wouldn't be hard to do.

Price:
I've been offered up to $4,500 so the buy it now price is $5,000.00 USD. I've seen domains that have not had a web site on them for 9 months, and the people make $10/day just from parking it. NeoNewsNow gets traffic, and a lot of it.

I think you probably mean 6000 visit a day instead of unique.
However, haave you intergrate it with ads, if yes, can you provide some revenue stats

In the seller's defense, a quick look at the stats would indicate that they are correct in claiming the 6,000 Unique Visitors stats.

Yes, thank you. NeoNewsNow is actually about three years old, but I bought the site from the former owner about 8 months ago and developed the site.

It does not make any money yet, but ads can easily be added to the site's layout and forums.

Back when we discussed the sale of the site, you told me it was against neo pets rules to monetize a fan site, right? Has this changed?

Since Viacom purchased them, they have greatly loosened up and if they are credited properly, it's not a problem. Plus, Neopets images can easily be replaced by an individual artists' images (NNN has several) and that avoids all issues.

Where can I read about Viacom's policy on Neo Pets fan sites? Will your staff be staying? Will you stick around for a set time period?

It isn't published, but I've never heard anything about them going after anyone, and there are Neopets sites with ads on them that I'm aware of, and I worked at one with ads, and there was never a problem. I've had Neopets staff members go to my site many times, and the staff there likes it. Even if it is a problem, the Neopets images can be removed (simple layout change), and they can't do much.

In addition, if you use the money for hosting costs, they are okay with that.

My staff voluenteer and I can't promise you they will stay, but I doubt it'd be a problem as long as there are no popups, spyware, etc. The time period of me staying around can be negoiated.

Thanks Aaron. I've contacted the host - the site has been really active the last few days, and has caused the SQL connections to go nuts.

The site is backup and working fine now.

Not a bandwidth thing, but a server load thing until we move to a dedicated server.

The staff helps a lot, and is capable of running the site.

Just basic ones - Invision Power Board (easy), and some HTML.
