.net doms

Would just like to assess members views of .net doms. Is there a demand? are they used much stateside?

Quite often, I find the domain im after is already registered for .com and .co.uk - have gambled with a few .net's but not really upto speed on their desireability etc.

Your thoughts would be appreciated.
