How dows the future look like for .net domains? Will they be more common? Will the prices go up or down?

I think the prices of the most common gTLD's will continue to rise. I consider .com & .org to have stronger futures than .net but .net still has an edge over many other cctld's.

I think the future looks good for .net and prices will continue to rise. It's a decent alternative to .com, along with ccTLD's and .org, which will also continue to rise. I'm actually surprised at how low some good .net's sell for every week, but that is only because .com is so strong. Lots more people and businesses coming online in the coming years, and they all need a good, affordable, domain name. I really wonder about what the supply of good domain names will be in 5 or 10 years. There is so much consolidation happening, more money looking to invest, big domainers still fresh regging, and more ways than ever to monetize domains - I really believe the secondary market will outpace fresh regging in $$$ value, if it hasn't already.

Not to mention that .net is widely accepted and used in European and Asian nations as a standard conveyance to business. The view the .net as implying interNET.

Many of the words seem like legal and medical terms, but they are the most common in the English language, which perhaps includes print.

I also ran a scan yesterday of vvvv.net and .com. All are registered in both extensions.

I like .net, it is good for traffic and parking, but also very good domain names and obviously a healthy extension.

I can say here in Canada, .net has next to nil visibility in terms of branding. .ca are about as common as .com's.

But if you're talking resale, yes you do have a larger market with .net where as many ccTLD's have restrictions on who can register.
