Anyone interested in adding me to his/her contact list, needs to ask for my authorization in order to avoid spam and unsolecited messages.

Well, every day I get a new message of this kind in the "system notice" section:

"The user has accepted your request to add him/her to your Contact List."

Consider I'm not adding new users to my list since over 4 months and every day this message is associated to a new Icq number !
My contact list isn't affected but ... what's the catch ?

And think that in some cases the icq number doesn't exist, I check them every day, always of a diff. fake identity (female), I suppose an attempt to add me to their sex spam list ...

Today the number was: 266775583

Anyone else is experiencing similar problems ?
All these system notices are boring me and I can't still understand what's really happening.

:(

Just got a new one coming from 202003734 (this number doesn't exist).

yeah I get that once a week or so. Its weird because the only way people are "allowed" to add me to their list is by me authorizing it. It also adds them to my list without my permission. What I do is put them on ignore. Lately I've been getting pager spam.

Until now, they've no chance to really add themselves to my contact list but I'm bored by all these daily notices :(

AOL's dirty secret:

They are now drifting into the adult media scene and ar eadvertising by spamming all their ICQ members.

:-D

ok so I made it up, but I still think its funny ;-)

We receive those messages everyday on ICQ.

Few tips :
1. Be Invisible
2. Change your Sex to F.

Hmm, ever since I posted in this thread, I've been getting a ton of spam from icq...weird.

Uhm, it's not a good idea, I'm more than happy with my M, I like F but I don't want to be F myself :)

hehe, just a tips.

They're targeting M.

You can choose first one. Be Invisible and add all your trusted contact on your visible list.

Fcuk the icq, uninstall it. That program is full of shit. There are alot of hack programs which let people to add you without your auth. Use yahoo or msn messenger.

We're already using Icq + Yahoo + MSN + AIM but thanks for your suggestion :)
