Just saw a recent release of the number of new .com regs. The numbers lead me to believe one thing....people are sure regging a bunch of junk. I hope its not all just domainers :0 The numbers would suggest there are at least more people getting NEEDED websites, that were long overdue. Sure a ton of them were us domainers making bad regs and plenty of people decided to get rich with the internet, but still likely help any who have decent domains for sale.

I still believe there is huge money to be made in names as this market is still in such early stages, but guess we shall see.

Can you imagine trying to come up with 100 million .coms to reg?! I mean with a clean slate. You come up with a list far short of 100 million wouldnt ya think?...I mean seriously how many decent .coms are there, a million, say 20 million even, say 50 million, that still means there is 50 million regged junk names (and I should know I have plenty, junk names) :).

Not everyone registers domains in order to resell. When SanAntonioBestRealty.com gets registered, it doesn't mean someone is attempting to grab the vertical.
When a brand is created instead of using a generic, that's another instance of a domain that belongs to this large stash of registrations. Not everyone is willing to pay large sums to buy generics that exist for sale.

Yes that was part of what I said, that a fair number are late arrivals getting their name, and thats good for them and the market.
