Overture Question ?

Say to get a result of "hot mail.com" in overture,what does the space mean ?

Does it mean that people are typing in a dash when searching or hit the space bar when searching ?

A result that says "hot mail.com" (I think, don't quote me) means that the space bar was hit. I think overture shows you the "-" if one is there

Just found out overture does not show the hypen's in its results so how do you distinquish whether its a hypen or the space bar been hit ?

Who knows...with all the IDNs out there, it is only a matter of time before the space bar shows up

overture results on xxx-xxx.com are all bogus there is no formula to my knowledge to get accurate results for hyphen names

overture does not show dashes in the results. the space in the results represents either the "dash" or the "space".
if you get a result for "Hot mail.com" 12,000 this means that 12,000 people have searched for either "Hot-mail.com" or "Hot mail.com"

My guess is that its the space bar that has been hit because in my years of experience teaching Basic Information Technology, 99% of the time, students type "hot (space bar) mail, you have to tell student that "hotmail" is one word and not "hot mail" . This is so because people naturally when searching the internet, type how they spell, especially if they are new to the internet or periodic users as most people are.

Rarely do I see students putting the dash and experience internet users would neither put the dash or hit the space bar.

My guess:-

New users ---space bar
Periodic users ---space bar
