I transfered $87 into my uk account today and just checked after reading this article and PayPal transfered £83.42 into my bank

I'm SURE they will take it back from your bank account. Make sure you have that extra amount ready (i.e. don't spend it) or they might even charge you for not able to retrieve funds.

In their world-wide scam they (PayPall) finally screwed themselves.
It is about principle, the result is not important.
