Does anybody know if this problem has been resolved yet?
 
for the benefit of us yanks, how does that add up? in other words, what should it have been?
 
$87 = £55.

It is if you're a buyer - converting £ to $.
 
I'm SURE they will take it back from your bank account. Make sure you have that extra amount ready (i.e. don't spend it) or they might even charge you for not able to retrieve funds.
 
In their world-wide scam they (PayPall) finally screwed themselves.
It is about principle, the result is not important.
