PM box full but no messages

My PM box is 99% full with 494 messages, but when I go to save and delete the old messages their arn't any. Its saying I have 23 in my sent and 24 in my inbox, but 494 messages total. How do I get to these old messages? I would like to save them before I delete them from my folder.

how do you explain that?

(there are no messages in any folders as I deleted them all by mistake the other day)
