This is the peril of finding planets that could support human life.

Once another planet is found, there will be no further need to continue with conservation, ecological or envirionmental concerns here on Earth.

The industrialists will bleed the planet dry, because now we have somewhere else to go and start all over again.

Nasa must be a great job. Sitting around all day eating "shrooms" thinking up weird scenarios. I mean really.

A thousand years away and they are excited?

How much has technology advanced in the last 100 years alone? We'd send up a space ship with humans and in 100 years it would be passed up by another ship with better faster technology, honking at the 4 generation of people inside the older shuttle as it zips by.
