TAMPA, Florida (AP) -- Deep-sea explorers said Friday they have mined what could be the richest shipwreck treasure in history, bringing home 17 tons of colonial-era silver and gold coins from an undisclosed site in the Atlantic Ocean.

Estimated value: $500 million.

Just like domaining, buying at the right time, selling at the right time. But lots of ups and downs...just like domaining.

I do own stock in this company (for about 3-4 years now) but I am not making a sales pitch. Just comparing domains to stock...you buy "shares" of each for your portfolio and hope the market goes up.

This is a fun company to read and watch and many television shows have been made on their discoveries. Great home web site also. If you are into history and archeology as well as making some money, this is a a cool company to track. Now at a new high k:=~~ but lots of ups and downs.

Agreed, takes a lot of capitol money to be able to fund an operation like that...

They also have to give the hosting government a percentage (if they are in territorial waters). The coolest part is they do sell some of their findings online. Some pricey, some reasonable, but all pieces of history if you are into that thing.

Shipwreck.com...that would be another undiscovered treasure with this news.

ShipWreck Net has a good ring to it, though.
