The police arrested a French immigrant for the robbery of a jewelry store. A policeman interrogated him but he could not understand anything, so they called a Military Veteran interpreter. The policeman said to him,

"We know you robbed the store. Tell us where the jewelry is!"

The Veteran interpreter translated, and the prisoner answered,

"I haven’t robbed the store."

The interpreter translated.

Then the Policeman took out his gun, put it into the prisoner’s face and yelled, "Tell us where the jewelry is or else I’ll blow up your skull!"

The interpreter translated and the prisoner immediately said, "I hid it in the park, it is buried under the roots of the largest pine-tree."

The interpreter translated, "Go ahead and shoot me! I'll not tell you morons anything!"

Good one John :D So the translator would get the stolen goods. Brilliant.

"I hid it in the park, it is buried under the roots of the largest pine-tree." = "Go ahead and shoot me! I'll not tell you morons anything!" from the point of view of the interpreter. So he translated it like that.

tekz, you missed the joke :D

Had to read it twice to get it ;)

Reminds me of the 80's movie the Goonies when the kid had some fun changing the message when translating for the Spanish-speaking maid.

Mad, Mad, Mad world?
Kubrick?
