Hello,

Just a heads up to all domainers, who receive an email from the domain phreaker.net. I got several emails like:

"Hello,

After checking domains for sale sites I've found your domain for sale bikv.com. So what is your price?

Buying and selling domains is not our only business. But domain aftermarket is hot now, so we are always interested in domain names.

Looking forward to do business with you.

Regards,
Harold Peterson
Chief Information Officer
PRK Software"

I replied the first email a few months ago and then he "agreed" on the price and then he asks for "an third party" appraisal. They basically want you to pay $49 for "an third party" appraisal by a firm, which they funny enough are related to if you do your research.

Bottom of line: scammers.

I hope no one here at DNF has been scammed.

Thanks,
Jonas

This kind of scam is not uncommon and not easy to catch to the novice domainer. I almost fell for it once last year but after some research found out the truth.

Plus, technically, they aren't doing anything illegal, they ask you for an appraisal from a third party and they usually give it to you then the "buyer" decides not to buy it.

Illegal? No. Unethical? Hell yes.
