Searching Single word Generics

Can you tell me how you guys search out single word generics, thereby contacting the owners to make an offer?

Is this done using a software program?

Me: By hand. I'm sure some other resourceful domainers out there have programs or packs of elves doing their work for them though.

I've sent out countless emails, and from what I've seen most owners seem to know the value of their names. I've only come accross a couple who were willing to let it go for a semi-reasonable reseller price, or should I say, 'bargain'.

Thanks DD, the reason I ask is; I'd like to do the same, if there is such a program, it would be great to enter in your search criteria, filtering out domains owned by domainers.

I'm also curious to know because I'm increasingly getting more domain offers recently on my single word generics, which are not for sale, Primarily from domainers who try to mask themselves as someone else.

With Domain Retreiver, you can have a list of words and it will tell you if they are landing pages or sites.

That's usually helpful.

Thanks to DCG and DBB for posting these links....I'm going to download them and see which one I like best, Domain Research Tool is double the price of Domain punch pro, but if its a better program, I'll gladly pay the extra money.
