Am i seeing this correctly? When all of a sudden do we have this option to change our username for 1000 DNF?

So basically we can change our username for $3.

I am against username changes in general but now we can do it for $3? What happened to paying over $300 to change a username??? Now i'm seeing usernames changing once or even twice within a month.

There is no option to see who changed usernames either... I want to know who i am dealing with on this forum and this is a major security problem.

There used to be a page that showed all the username changes... I haven't seen it for at least a year now though.

I know lotk, i haven't actually looked since the upgrade.

I really don't want to have to investigate usernames. It should be very clear who i am dealing with.

I think these user name changes are destroying the integrity of DNF... You don't know who's who anymore, UNLESS you dig into their past postings.

I've said this before, If were going to allow user-name changes, their NEEDS to be an indicator beside that user name showing the name was changed, And that indicator should
remain in place for at least 90 days, much like the way Ebay does it.

I changed my username, I used to be TheLegendaryJPtotheizzle

I changed mine (PinkMisfit) but it is confusing for other members. However, I think the option should be allowed.

Paying is news to me, too??

No. People who are NFG destroy the integrity of DNF.

Agreed.

I am thinking of changing my username to Stian, as most here on the forum knows me by my name. Right? So I hope no one will get confused when/if I do. ;)

I think everyone should have to use their REAL names :)

BTW I changed my username (sdsinc), sorry ;)
I know that NP keeps a trail of username changes and they are visible in your profile page.
I think DNF should do the same and display that information

Come on, you changed yours a while back, I remember. It's not even in the trail list :)

That reminds me of a joke.

A man with the unfortunate name of Adolf Fatass, goes to the registry to request that his name is changed.

"What do you want to change it to?", asks the officer.

"Adam Fatass", says the man :D

Melly,

Actually i brought up this thread for a specific reason. You have changed your name from Pink Misfit to BetConcept and now Melly ...

is it necessary to change your nicknames so often? This feature is being abused. How many times are we allowed to change usernames?

I would like this issue resolved and not pushed to the side because in the future someone is going to be scammed one way or another.

changing your username can be really confusing!!!

there should be an option to use either of the three,,,
Firstname+Lastname
Emailid
userName

that can be switched (with a cost)
but then, a person can keep changing their email id .... tuff ask, but to keep integrity, can it be done only with a rationale and a cost to it?

I want to know....

If I change my name does that mean someone else can take my old one ?

Also can I just change my name to ., yes ., can my username be . ?

No you can't change to .
I tried it . The username you have entered is too short.
If Melly spelt her old user name correctly above , then yes, you can pinch someones old id
See I did it
Now I have to spend my hard earned changing it back ... DuH.

Think I will wait until I get a reaction before I do the change back

Edit:
I changed again
This time to my surname

I think you should have to be a member a certain length of time before you can change (say 5 years, which would cover someone well-known and respected like Melly), no one should be able to adopt this person's old name, and there should be a reference to a previous name change somewhere among the details beside the posts, so people would know to check elsewhere for the previous name.

very easy to implement on the systems,,, wud have been fun using it,,, not funny!
