He is part myth, part man. Nobody even knows if he even really existed.

Several years back I read an article on him (although no one knew his name). He started out exactly how you said he did, but by the time he sold his portfolio, he had an entire staff and was knocking down close to 6 or 16 million a year just from parked revenue!!!

He was a visionary. He knew early on that companies paid for links and for page ranking. He also knew that when those domains expired or dropped that the ranking and links went with the domain. Someone else had already put all the money and effort into development and marketing. His total cost was to renew the domain name.

That's what the article stated. He did sell a few years back for 10 years worth of revenue.

He was way late to PPC. He didn't even have the names resolve for a couple of years. He registered names to one day sell. When he finally discovered PPC he generated a lot of cash to buy snapbacks on Snapnames. So a lot of names he got for $40 each.
