I hope it isn't used as an excuse to raise gas prices again.

or maybe, if Somalia is of any "interest" to the US, a new "war on terror" is not out of the question

Which it isn't in the slightest because it has no natural resources...

Seriously, have you never seen a WorldVision ad on TV? If they're not in the Congo or Darfur, they're in Somalia.

approx half the money they get goes back to the goverment...this is never going to stop, im sure they have a line up of kids waiting to be pirates.

nothing like a government funded operation.

*they are going to have to guard any ship with valuable cargo or find a safer route.

:yo:

They could buy a lot of machine guns for the millions they're spending on ransoms. I'm surprised there are no enterprising mercenaries out there on privateers, like back in the carribean pirate days.

in all honesty,it's sad what's going on in somalia.but you gotta understand their point of view too.they gotta eat as well, and they're gonna do what they gotta do to get the sh*t they want.those people are starving, and they can get a gun and a boat faster then they can get a job or help from the government.it is what it is imo.
