Just started happening. when someone sends me an email, a spam message goes back to Them. It's got my contact list and sending the same spam message to them ?
Big problem ? Small problem ?
what to do.........

outlook or Thunderbird?
firstly install and run a trusted spyware checker.
close the email program until this matter is solved.

AVG is different from spyware removers.

download and use Spy Bot Search and Destroy or super Anti Spyware

And malwarebytes , then check for rootkits with panda antirootkit and/or gmer

Chances are good that it's NOT going through your email client though. Most of these have their own smtp engine built in. I'm assuming you're running windoze. Open a command prompt (start/run/cmd), type netstat -n to see a list of current tcp connections. if you see a lot of connection (more than 5-10) or especialy if you see a lot of connections to or from port 25, disconnect yourself from the internet before any more damage occurs. Also, it's a good idea to change all your passwords on the net, email, banks, etc. Many of these have keyloggers as well as smtp engines.

Run more then one spyware finder, many times one will pick up what the other one missed.
