Would it be possible to edit title's after they've been created, to either:

1} remove trademarked names - added protection for buyer and seller
2} notify everyone that the name was sold

As an alternative, maybe your could create a sub folder that has this option available. Anyone else agree that this is a good idea? I would have created a poll, but it doesn't appear to be an option...

I agree. Sellers should also be able to move their thread to a forum called SOLD or Finished if they decide to end the sale to stop confusion.

I agree, in particular about having mods (or thread starters) to be able to add the topic title prefix : SOLD or CLOSED or similar... would help in navigating through the various FS forums.

Good suggestion.

Rob

I agree with all the points made above.

The problem is we have a hack that requires the TLD to be in the title. If we allow editing of tites we have to make sure the hack affects editing, so people can't create a thread with .com, then edit it out. Just posting this so the techs see this and test before changing.

Will be an easy fix.

I second that!

Was a decision reached today?

it could be done if users were given permission to replace the existing domain in the title with something such as "sold.com"

That way it represents a domain name, but its a lot more clear to everyone that the domain is actually sold. Rather then having to open the thread, read though and find out on the last post the domain was sold 3 weeks ago.

Yes, something like [SOLD] at the beginning of the thread title would be helpful.

CS-Admin said she'd post back here (above post).

Any new info? My PM to CS-Admin was never responded to.

I have no info. I guess it was shot down, but just guessing. Strange your PM was not answered. Perhaps she still needs time.

We cannot allow users to edit thread titles or the board would be a mess.

2} notify everyone that the name was sold

If you post domain sold as a post in the thread, everyone sees it that is subscribed to the thread.

If I am missing some other question, please post or pm me.
