Looking at the list so far and potentially over 4K domains to deal with, all I could say is.. What a fail!

I could have sworn I saw some good domains. Must have been some sort of a mirage.

Here were my picks for the week, along with comments where applicable...

sellingbarrie - many similar domains for Barrie RE professionals - landed this one at Burmac - should be a quick flip.
sdb - as has been the case with most LLL's, this one was overvalued, and as a result I passed on it.
rajesh - first names are hit and miss for me. Bids got above the minimum on this and I decided not to go after it.
pianorepair - suitable for any piano repairman/repair company. Got this at Burmac.
mirage - in auction for it. Not a tooth and nail, doubt I'll put any bids in. Slightly unclear uses, don't want to push too hard for this one.
graniteshop - don't know what happened to this one, but would've been a good one, especially given the trend of granite countertops and such in homes.
haughian - common surname, cheap pickup at Burmac
fail - this week's best. I'm in auction for it at Pool. Pretty cool name.
carshow - great generic, but too much competition so I backed off. Especially since the major show is known as the "Auto Show".
burnabyrealtor - got this one at Burmac - value is self explanatory
bayviewhomes - didn't go after this one, initially thought there to be value as "Bayview" is generally regarded as a locale in Toronto. Did my research, passed on it.
analytical - thought it to be all too suitable as people tell me I'm extremely analytical . But then I went into Kevin O'Leary mode and asked "where's the money?!"

And, well, that was the end of that :)

Well, I agree somewhat with Maxwell's opinions, although I would have a hard time believing that this was any strong week. Fail.ca was on TBR two years ago and was picked by Pool and the owner dropped it in two years.. wasn't that a fail by itself..unless developed to mean something.. will not have any value because of it's negative connotation. Might be good name for a blog, but I do not know of anyone, who wants to pay much for such use. Everybody is looking for a "deal" these days, including the recent high flyers. Carshow,ca will never see the light of day, with the "other" being so heavily marketed.. in my opinion...

Looking at the TOP 30 picks, I do not see anything like the ones we saw a few weeks ago and looks like to me that those who came to pick up TBRs during those weeks because of the heavy marketing campaigns run by the now famous Registrars, are left with nothing these days and are just picking anything that is on the list...

Well, time would tell..if I am wrong.. or a FAIL!!!!

Very good insight, dotca - didn't know it had dropped in a prior TBR.

Bids are over $500 at pool now. I'm out.

Fail is a huge word for the younger generation, as in 'epic fail'.

Saw mirage close just above $900, and nuage close just above $300. I think nuage was a good deal, it means 'cloud' in french, and we're in the cloud computing era.

Yes, I hear more of "fail" and "sick" than anything else come out of the teens these days.. WOW is gone, to an extent..may be "fail" and "sick" also will.. until something else replaces.. and there is no shortage for them....

Easier said than done. The wedding may cost a lot, thus implying much profit, but I'll be honest with you, if I were running a search for end-users, this would not be an end user I would target.

The word "mirage" is used in so many names that I'd just wait for the inquiries. Hopefully from the Mirage Resort in an expansion of some sort to Canada.

Hey, Caesar's opened up a casino/resort in Windsor, I think it's perfectly practical for other Vegas brands to make their way up here as well.

This would be a great name to land. thegraniteshop.ca is taken (by a biz in Calgary) and a pretty big shop in Ottawa is using thegraniteshoppe.ca...and they have to actually spell out the "shoppe" part on the radio.

I don't know if I would have broken the bank on this one, but had I checked the TBR prior to yesterday, I would have gone after this one pretty hard because there are these 2 clear end-users that would probably be interested. And add to that the number of of granite places using other non-descriptive domains this one would have had lots of potential.
