Text link sales

I have no experience selling text links, can anyone advise a good service and what do you think of these services.

why not use google adwords or YPN, or something like that?
I think there is also text-link-ads.com that lets you buy/sell links on your site

You dont really need a service to do this. You could just put an example text link listing on your website, where paid links will go, something like "Advertise Here" and then have that lead to a page with pricing per month, etc. and a contact form or a paypal buy now button. There is no need for a middleman. However sites like the one suggested above will give you more exposure if your traffic is low.

Thanks for the advice. Traffic is my problem so will check them out.
Any other reliable services of the same type that anyone knows of?
