Total increase in direct navigation?

Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone knew about the total increase in type-in traffic over the last few years or so? I know individual domains, niches, and even extensions will vary a lot going up and down with the times. Does anyone here have a big enough or diversified enough portfolio to say, "Total type-in traffic is going up 9% a year" or something like that?

I'm also curious as to the growth rate of the internet within emerging markets and how that's going to change the PPC game.
