What I do not understand is that these were expired names from Tucows that were on Afternic and then taken off...Why should they not have been made available for pre-order? They are expired...

So these seem to be theTucows customers' expired names that they wanted to keep for their own portfolio but just slipped through the cracks and got on Afternic?

If Tucows would renew all of it's Warehoused domains before they hit the expired date.... All these "errors" wouldn't keep taking place!

Question to self: If Tucows publicly stated they do "review" and "move" some (the good ones) expired domains into it's very own portfolio, why should I waste my time looking through what Tucows lists on Afternic for auction?

Oh... I don't, Tucows takes all the good stuff and pass the junk pile to Afternic!

These "error's" that keep happening just show how many domain names Tucows has Warehoused over the years!

Ya, i'd be taking all my business elsewhere, and leaving Afternic and Tucows in the dust. Tucows is not an outstanding company, they are however, outstanding cheats.

Give them your money if you want, maybe it'll help some of them pay for that 4th vacation next year.

Has any one received similar messages?

When this happens at tdnam it's because the original owner has chosen to renew the name.. for whatever reason.

Why not make the name public so we can all see what Tucows/NameMedia are upto? Not awarding the domain after a successful purchase isn't just unethical, it might be actionable in a court of law.

What about the relationship with your customers who buy domains at auction and use your services? Where do they rank in your value scale? This is why it's bad for registrars like Tucows, Network Solutions and Enom to compete with their customers.

I wrote the post Knowing the certain domains were being warehoused and as clear as day in comment # 2 Ken Schafer of Tucows clearly states the certain domains that are not showing up on Afternic are: "WLF.com - expired 6-19-2008 - not on Afternic, chosen for Tucows Portfolio"

You have a very short time to let ICANN know that you are sick and tired of Registrar Warehousing of expired domain names. All it takes is about 5 minutes of your time via email...

Is Afternic directly linked to Tucows by means of ownership?
Enom has been warehousing domains for years, but at least they are at its own database. It seems that Tucows cherrypicks expiring domains already listed at Afternic, so that's a first.

I am 99% sure it's just a "Partnership" for auctioning expired domain names (some of them at least).
