unable to add new post to own thread?

i started a thread, and subsequently want to add comment or latest status by using the 'reply', but the message is added to the bottom or the original post and not as a new post. Is it the case or what have i done wrong?

I think its a time limit they have added - to limit the number of 'bumps'.

I think they have added a modification which dosen't allow you to post 2 posts in a row.

you have to wait a while before replying so it shows in a new post.
Its a built in function that was added a while ago. I guess so people dont abuse the system (for DNF$ maybe).

i was trying to add a new post 2 hrs after the original, so i don't think the above should apply?

so 2 hours isnt enough. Just wait.
Otherwise, have someone make a blank post in that thread, and you can then reply right away under their post if it is that urgent.

It is 8 hours. This is in place to prevent abuse.

Is your new information so crucial that it MUST have it's own entry?

The 8 hr. waitng period was instituted to prevent constant bumping of threads in the "sales" forums.

It had got to the point of abuse!

Even with the "1 per 24 hr. thread creation" rule, some still ignore that as well.

However, as stated, you can add a new comment after the 8 hr. period or after someone has posted in your thread.
