Description: Latest news and downloads on the current War of the Worlds movie. The first episode has already been released and was directed by Steven Spielberg and there are plans to develop a sequel and prequel. Also includes a hot message board with over 600+ members who are interested in all kinds of movies, especially SCIFI. They want me to form additional movie sites so they can chat about it, however, I have no time. Hence, I am selling it to someone who may be interested in taking it and growing it.
Technical Work: Original, pure CSS/HTML with PAGE INCLUDES for ease of updating. Also has a news script that you can use to upload news without having to use a webpage editor.
Reason for sale: I have no time to keep it updated, answer daily emails and do maintenance. I feel I canât do justice to the siteâs potential and I hope someone else can take over and give it the care it deserves. Also, I need startup capital for another web project.
Strengths of site: Very loyal and dedicated members in our forum. Membership increases daily. Works well with AMAZON because most users are educated. ZERO EXPENSES (other than typical hosting). Also, the SCI FI genre is hot and there are several upcoming SCI FI films on the way due to the success of WAR OF THE WORLDS.
Newsletter subscription database: 230+ members, highly targeted.
Forum Stats: 671 users, 17,000+ posts! (highly loyal)
Weakness: Because the movie has already been released, the siteâs revenue has taken a plunge. However, there is a rumored sequel on the way and several SCI FI epics in the works. Site has outgrown its scope and navigation structure needs to be fixed. Site URL no longer reflects the scope of the site.
Advertisements, Revenue and SEO info:
Adsense - $425.95/July, $476.77/June, but $111 so far for August! This is because the movie has been out now for some time. However, the good news is that there is a huge DVD release coming for the month of November. I expect numbers to go back up to the $200-300 range, if not more. Keep in mind that DVD sales ALWAYS outnumber their box office sales. People will be searching the web for this product starting next month.
Direct Advertising is from HYPEMAKERS. You can view a recent campaign here: http://www.hypemakers.net/dah/index.php?code=2407 . This one netted me about $334 dollars total for about three months I think at 15cents per unique click.
Casale Media: $110.77 for July , $141 for June. August unknown at the moment.
