We paid $300 to buy a domain from a Malaysian guy (he was a verified member as we're) but he's now ignoring us and, unfortunately, he didn't give us our domain :(

For my luck, I specified anything in a detailed message when I sent the money; what might we do now ? Can PayPal help us to solve this issue and, in the meantime, lock these funds ?

Thanks for helping, I hate cheaters ...But, until I'll not be sure at 100%, I'll not make his data public.

Nope.

File it with paypal.

They freeze his account.

If he has the money still there then you can have your $ back.

Otherwise you get nothing.

Even if you were eligible for Buyer protection.

Paypal says It's best effort.

I just lost $1375 from a DNF, DS member.

Did the exact same thing.

Very sorry to hear about your big loss NameTower ... I'll contact PayPal immediately to attempt saving my money if still in time :(
Thanks for explaining.

At the end of the day, Escrow services always seem to be worth the cost. Good luck on getting the money or your domain.

Thats a bummer, good luck guys, hope all works out in the end.

Mike

Hi,

We're still trying to clear the situation ... now funds are temporary in "pending reverse", the seller answered and we're attempting to understand what happened exactly.
If this issue should be solved privately, of course, I'll not post his details here otherwise, if we should be unable to get back our money or our domain, we'll post here all details.

I see .com.net.org ... Probably he has a seat in another Asian country too, his full address wasn't mentioned in the PayPal message but I saw it in whois.

Ok, I'll keep you all updated, thanks again for your kind support and useful suggestions.

Indeed! I don't know if this is possible on a forum like this, but couldnt you guys make a feedback system like ebay has?

Sorry for the equivocal: unfortunately that guy isn't a member of this forum for what I know ... I didn't know him through a forum.

SKYWALKER is the guy who screwed me.

I've been ripped off a couple times paying through Paypal, and found Paypal to be not too helpful.
