Everyone keeps talking about how this is going to be huge in a few years. Just wondering what does the .us extension usually work for. Companies, products, ect.. ?

I could understand something like www.cdr.us

then again, you could have something like

www.flakyhair.us which would make no sense.

So is the .us more or less a corporate product thing?

thanks

It is the United States country code domain. It works for anyone who wants (and can within the rules) indicate they are a US company or has something to do with the US. I like it for geographic names, and have a few like MissouriRiver.us, and MammothCave.us

are there no trademarks for things like MammothCave ?

Since that is a nationally known landmark, I would have thought they could take the name if they truely want it.

Thanks for the reply by the way

I don't think that there can be trademarks on national landmarks like Grand Canyon & Mount Rushmore.

BTW, that's why I went after ultra generic geographic names like Rivers.US & Caves.US....Hope it was a worthwhile move:)
