What kind of printer do you have?

OK, what are you guys using for a printer?.

I got tired of spending money for inkjet cartridges that don't last long and dry up, so I went with a Laser printer and I love it!.... Lightning fast, clean and crispy clear printing, I also heard the toner cartridge will last at least 10 times longer than the inkjet.

What I got was the "Canon ImageClass MF4370" It's not color, but I don't need it, Cheaper and better to have the store print them out. :yes:

Ever since I switched to Canon I have zero problems, either with the quality of printing or the stability and longevity of the colors. I used Epson and other brands in the past and none compares to Canon.

Brother MFC 7820n here at home. Bought a refurb for about $150 when the last one finally needed a drum (would have been $175). Network printer / fax / scanner / copier, cheap toners. No problems. And the software isn't enormous like HP.

I'd never go to a Canon or Epson inkjet printer - they waste a ton of ink.

Canon does make a good toner, though (the only one better is Xerox).

HP color laser printer for me! Same as you Raider, got sick of the dried up inkjet cartridges and switched to laser... been about a year and a half now and still haven't changed the toner and everything still looks nice and crisp!

I use a samsung laser one (I bought the cheapest model) having no problems.

I used to use HP's and never really had any problems with them. I recently bought an Epson printer/fax/copier... and it really sucks for printing. And what's worse is that it needs six or seven printer cartridges... I definitely would not recommend it to anyone. Oh well. It was highly rated at CNET.

I too am a Canon fan. I've used the smaller Canon MF4350d all-in-one and Konica Minolta 2430DL (color) without any problems. It's been nearly 3 years and I still haven't changed the Konica cartridges.

This week I decided I wanted an "upgrade" when I saw that Office Depot has the Canon MF6590 (Item #384815) for $699 with a $300 rebate. The printer is far more than I need but I figure it will easily last 4+ years. I wanted it because it has a legal size platent glass for scanning.

The Office Depot $49 2-year performance guarantee is added on to the END of the manufacturer's warranty.

And to sweeten the deal, Quill.com has the same printer (SKU #204092) on sale for $459. Office Depot has a price guarantee, they matched the Quill price and sold me the printer. I paid $552.01 (printer/extended warranty/salestax) and then I mailed in the $300 rebate. I knew I wouldn't need an extra toner cartridge for a long time. If I did, I'd get Office Depot to match a competitor's sales price and then use the OD coupon for $20 off $100 purchase.

Yeah, $252 for a $700 printer and 3-year warranty. This thing is pretty quiet for such a fast printer.

We were at Costco and I wanted to buy the HP 6480, but my Husband wanted to go back to the Laser because it was more cost efficient and printed as fast as a Xerox copier.

The Toner and Drum is a "All in one" unit and costs about $80-$85 (new), Well worth it when you consider how long it lasts, It's not like the really old ones where you had to spend nearly $200 for both units

Yeah, ours is letter size, but you can print legal, We paid about $250 delivered from CostCentral, the only thing I dont like about it is; it's not wireless, so were having to run a Network cable through the attic.... oh well.

Because companies "pay" for reviews on a lot of sites. It was a no brainer with the company I used to do tech support for - worst PCs ever (worse than eMachines and Gateway) but always highly rated in PC Magazine, Computer Shopper, etc..

You need to read customer reviews like on Amazon, NewEgg, even epinions.com - while companies can still post on these sites promoting their own products, if it's bad, you'll see one good and dozens of bad reviews.

Its good actually, I needed network printing in it and the fact that it has a duplexer is a nice bonus. Media card slots, even built in Wifi.

My 1100a had the toner / drum in one (like many lower-end printers (not cheap - just less expensive as opposed to the $5,000+ office machines). If you treat it right, it'll last for years until the fuser goes (never part of the cartridge) and then you're looking at spending as much to replace the printer as you would with the fuser (1100a - $250 for a refurbished one).

What I also recommend people to do is ask the sales people (if the store has printers out for people to try with demo buttons) - which ones get replaced the most? Least? You figure that demo units get abused more just about anything else on the planet.
