i have a domain with a form that generates 10-20 SUPER high quality leads each day. its basically a parked domain that is so targeted, that nearly all of the people that submit the form are looking for exactly what many companies are selling.

is there a rule of thumb for what a lead should cost?

for example, if the 'product' being sold is $20, should a lead be sold for $1, $5, $20?

any tips would be appreciated as i'm about to get in touch with people about selling them leads.

10-20 leads is not that much... what you should do is try and negotiate at least 25% to start with... if for example your domain is pulling in "travel" leads a company might offer you a few percent since the sale is going to be xxx - x,xxx... if your domain is pulling in web hosting, porn, etc. then anywhere from 25-50 percent is a reasonable deal for both you and the company, good luck.

Hi Charlie - We have a client that pays as much as $20 for every mortgage lead, another one pays $2.50 for every hosting lead and $50 for every signup.I think there is a formula that they use but when I was in advertising we used a matrix to determine what a lead should cost. It was based on the product purchase price divided by the ad budget percentage (ie - $20 Product - ad budget 15% of gross revenue or $3.00 per product sold - then figure the closing rate at like 10% of each generated lead and it would require 10 leads for every product sold - or $.30 for each lead to be in budget). The higher the product cost - the higher the per lead budget. Hope that helps - Best of luck - Steve

If the people that are submiting the form are looking for info/to purchase a particular product AND are wanting/expecting to be contacted with purchasing/info relating to that specific product, these leads are "optin" GOLD.

You can sell the leads for various rates at various times to different classes of buyers.

Fresh exclusive for 10 days
10-30 day old
30-60 etc etc

The price really depends on the product's value and if the product is a one time purchase or repeat purchases.

I used to buy optin leads all the time. PM me if you want some further help.

Cheers
